C.C.A.R.E Initiatives

C.C.A.R.E is an acronym for Citizens and Community Awareness and Responsibility Everywhere!

A fundamental belief of The Michael Agbaakin Foundation is that the developmental issues of Black Africa will be solved by Leadership. Leadership that derives from Citizens and Communities being aware of common challenges and taking responsibility to provide solutions.

In the C.C.A.R.E Initiatives, we engage citizens and communities and develop their capacity to contribute to National Development via activity on certain identified challenges.

The C.C.A.R.E Initiatives are:

A bold initiative to reach out to communities with trackable population of over 100, 000 persons who will be provided with essential education on Diabetes prevention. 10, 000 persons aged 30years and above will have diabetes risk assessment. These services will be provided at no cost to the selected communities.

We intend to identify indigent persons from these populations and provide free regular clinic consultations as well as highly subsidized laboratory support for management of Type-2 Diabetes. We will also provide free or minimal cost medications for their care.

A bold initiative to recruit, manage and deploy 10, 000 voluntary regular blood donors.
The effort will help provide safe blood and blood components for use in partner health facilities which will be required to abide by terms that ensure safety, tracking, and a minimum of 50% reduction in costs to patients.
The effort will also help with mobilizing blood in events of disaster and violence.

We intend to operate a blood banking facility with capacity for production and distribution of units of blood and blood components.

A bold initiative to teach the principles of Citizenship and Community, improve locality hygiene (and by extension health indices), and generate jobs and taxable funds via activity in the waste management value chain.
This initiative will be carried out through local partners in select localities.
