C.C.A.R.E is an acronym for Citizens and Community Awareness and Responsibility Everywhere!
A fundamental belief of The Michael Agbaakin Foundation is that the developmental issues of Black Africa will be solved by Leadership. Leadership that derives from Citizens and Communities being aware of common challenges and taking responsibility to provide solutions.
In the C.C.A.R.E Initiatives, we engage citizens and communities and develop their capacity to contribute to National Development via activity on certain identified challenges.
The Medical Volunteers Group is our initiative to bring quality primary (and select secondary care services) healthcare service to the urban poor at minimal cost. We will do this by mobilizing resources to communities and working with communities to meet identified needs. The resource mix that we will mobilize has the volunteered skill-set and time of medical practitioners of various cadres and specializations as a core component. The personnel, material, education and finance mix is deployed to identified communities.
Our volunteers will be required to give their skill for free for a certain number of hours a month. These medical personnel are then deployed to provide free service in different communities that benefit the urban poor.
It is our target to have community medical outreaches with our volunteers, and to set up low cost community medical facilities "staffed" by our volunteers during their free time.
We will also engage in Community Health Outreaches as part of our activities in other initiatives.
